70's inspired fish

This is the Circa 1970's board that you see at a garage sale minus the wear /tear, years of sun damage, shotty ding repairs, retarded stickers, and ancient wax scum. I shaped these boards with a little more volume then the common fish you see today. I cant help but be influenced by the original functional shapes of certain designs. I shape whatever people want but for the record I like old shapes that work and have the artistic flare of our time.

A splash of color

Cheyn's Mini Sims after being laminated. The board will look a lot better after the hot coat. You really can't get the full affect of the color scheme during this part of the board building process. It's sort of like when you put Armor all on dry tires...It just makes the colors richer and fuller.

Pig vs. La Santa Maria

I Finally have a little time to shape myself a new board. I have a little down time while I'm waiting for some blanks to come in. I have a 10'3'' blank that Ive been wanting to shape down to a 10'-0''. I'm thinking of shaping a La Santa Maria model or maybe a pig not sure yet...? I sold my daily noserider to a friend and I feel like I should make a square tail noserider. Its easy to make other people boards but when it comes to myself I cant make up my mind. Good problem to have I guess..... any suggestions?

Cheyne's Mini Sims

This is a look at Cheyne's freshly shaped Mini Sims. This surfing platform is a lot more fun to surf than it is to shape. There are alot of shapes that you can look at and say "that looks about right". Well the Mini Sims is not one.... This board needs a good eye and shaping instinct. This board is super fun to ride and has its own bag of tricks. This board rides similar to the Fish in the way that it is a little skaty. The best way to describe this board is that it flows to your own beat whether you want to pump fast down the line or just cruise up and down the face of the wave. The rails of this board are crucial to the performance . I kept the rails super sharp in the tail and gradually soften them towards the middle. The sharp rails create the drive and control. I am hand shaping and foiling some cedar fins for this board. This board will be laminated on Monday and should be done by the end of the week.

I aint sayin she a Gold Digga.......

Julio's "La Sant Maria"noserider just was lam'd today. Hard color to do but it came out perfect. This board has a nice vintage look to it and will fit in Julio's quiver nicely. I'm trying to get this board delivered by this weekend.

Quality fresh fish.....

These boards were just laminated and are getting ready for some double foiled wooden Gephart glass on fins .They will then be hot coated, glossed, and polished. I'm super stoked with the resin work. Each board has the same pattern but with different colors and are definitely unique. I will have pics of the finished product in a couple days.
